Program Coordinator: Health, Safety and Operations

Duties & Essential Job Functions:
  1. Provides support for international travelers' health and safety through risk assessment, including crisis response.
  2. Monitors world events, prominent health and safety issues and legal decisions affecting international programs.
  3. Serves as a point of contact for emergency management and testing and refining of emergency protocols for students and employees abroad.
  4. Manages Terra Dotta platform, including travel registration and process related to study abroad.
  5. Primary responsibility for managing internal and external data for assessment and other purposes.
  6. Serves as a primary contact for University global assistance provider.
  7. Serves in a support role for the University International Oversight Committee and International Response Team, providing resources and best practices.
  8. Researches and analyzes current trends and practices in study abroad for long-term planning and strategic implementation.
  9. Writes, edits, and produces program materials related to health and safety for travel abroad for website and handbooks.
  10. Assists with program development, site assessments, and in-country visits and orientations.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Master’s Degree and 3 plus years’ relevant experience including data management, risk management, international health and safety, legal affairs or 3 years of experience in international programs.

        OR

  • PhD and 1 year of experience in international programs.
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • PhD.
  • 3 plus years’ experience in international programming or operations related to health and safety and data management.  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and ability to use strong oral and written communication skills with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of interpersonal communication techniques.
  • Skill in standard software and ability to quickly develop competency in program-specific software solutions.
  • Skill in organization.
  • Ability to manage details of a project.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to effectively prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff members.
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment regarding confidential information.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, and international entities/organizations.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
