Director Digital Philanthropy

Job Summary: The Director Digital Philanthropy is responsible for creating and distributing internal and external messaging primarily through digital platforms to actively engage alumni, parents, and friends of TCU and to convert these constituents to donors. The Director will help plan, lead and coordinate all digital fundraising efforts within the Office of Loyalty Giving. The Director is responsible for donor acquisition, renewal, retention, segmentation growth and digital engagement through a variety of digital tools.
Duties & Essential Job Functions: 1. Cultivates and solicits donors through digital platforms, including crowdfunding, digital ambassadors, texting, giving days, monthly giving program, and other emerging platforms.
2. Develops strategy for multiple digital philanthropy campaigns and a related comprehensive annual calendar.
3. Develops campaigns to inform, solicit, and receive support for various TCU projects using multiple digital platforms.
4. Leads, coordinates, and executes TCU Gives Day.
5. Oversees the development, implementation, and execution of call and digital engagement centers and 40+ callers.
6. Oversees all social media campaigns, including developing and tracking digital advertising.
7. Provides direction for achieving student philanthropy goals and strategy via digital methods.
8. Recruits project applicants for Crowdfunding and makes selections from applicant pool each cycle, which includes in person presentations to students and faculty; manages all crowdfunding project leaders, including frequent updates on project progress.
9. Maintains best practices for all digital platforms.
10. Works with college gift officers and other campus partners to identify viable projects that attracts alumni, parents and friends.
11. Identifies digital advertising for special initiatives via social media and web traffic.
12. Tracks digital advertising metrics, including dollars promoting ads and revenue generated from ads.
13. Manages the digital ambassador platform messaging to ensure consistency with upcoming campaigns.
14. Manages the Giving Day platform by updating graphics, upgrading systems as required, updating content, and serving as point of contact on campaign days.
15. Manages social media schedule and metrics; posts 1+ times per week, collaborates on content with the direct marketing coordinator.
16. Collaborates with digital partners across University Advancement and the campus community.
17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field and 3 years’ experience in digital fundraising or digital marketing in higher education, nonprofits, or an advertising/marketing agency, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED and 7 years’ experience in digital fundraising or digital marketing in higher education, nonprofits, or an advertising/marketing agency, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Education & Experience: • Experience working in higher education and/or fundraising.
• Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM and digital products.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
• Knowledge of modern technologies and emerging platforms.
• Knowledge of communications, presentations, and interpersonal relationship techniques.
• Knowledge of social media platforms.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication.
• Skill in effective public speaking.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Skill in digital or ecommerce field.
• Skill in Adobe Suite.
• Skill in HTML and applicable design skills.
• Skill in website and social analytics tools, email marketing and project management.
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
• Ability to learn navigation and data entry in a CRM system and ability to work within a CRM (Blackbaud CRM).
• Ability to effectively manage multiple, large, complex projects through to completion.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations): • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment: • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
