The Department of Geography at Texas Christian University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2024. A Ph.D. in Geography is required by the time of appointment.
We seek applicants with research and teaching experience in the areas of geospatial technology, digital culture, and data analytics, broadly defined. The position will involve teaching courses supporting both the Geography program as well as a new major in Digital Culture and Data Analytics (DCDA) in the AddRan College of Liberal Arts at TCU. These courses include but are not limited to introductory Python for data analysis; Geographic Information Systems; and advanced Geography courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.
The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research and publishing program and seek external funding opportunities. We encourage candidates specializing in all sub-fields of Geography to apply so long as they engage with questions of geospatial technology, digital culture, and data analytics in their research and teaching programs.

About Geography at TCU
The Department of Geography at TCU has six full-time faculty with research specializations in Geographic Information Science as well as population, urban, economic, cultural, and environmental Geography. The department offers BA and BS degrees in Geography.
Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
