The Energy Institute Communications Director for the Ralph Lowe Energy Institute (RLEI) is responsible for accomplishing the Institute’s objectives by developing and directing the implementation of strategic communications and public relations strategies and tactics, as well as providing communications council to, and coordination with, the wider business school departments, colleges across the TCU campus, and programs and Centers of Excellence.
1. Manages external and internal communication needs consistent with the RLEI mission and goals by researching trends; reviewing internal and external publications; monitoring news media.
2. Plans external and internal communication programs by identifying target audiences; determining specific approaches; managing Neeley School publications, RLEI publications, and website content; creating a consistent RLEI image in all written materials; negotiating and overseeing execution of vendor contracts.
3. Seeks out and responds to media inquiries by recommending information strategies to management; coordinating information releases with the Neeley School External Relations and the TCU Office of Marketing & Communication as needed.
4. Informs stakeholders and general public by coordinating communications with key constituents; promoting RLEI successes and stories of interest; selecting target audiences; arranging interviews and tours.
5. Leads written communications including but not limited to the RLEI Director and staff messaging, press releases, web content, email marketing communications, newsletters and internal communiques.
6. Leads RLEI social media management including strategy, calendaring, content curation and creation, engagement and data analysis.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• 5 plus years’ experience in a strategic communications, marketing or public relations environment.

• Experience in media relations and social media oversight.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
