The Collection Assistant is responsible for providing inventory support for TCU’s Permanent Art Collection.
1. Assists the Collections Manager to complete an in-person inventory of the TCU Permanent Art Collection.
2. Researches and documents artworks within the TCU Permanent Art Collection as needed.
3. Provides feedback and suggestions to department staff regarding art collection inventory methods, documentation, and procedures.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience with inventory or documentation, or other role involving organization and note-taking
• Previous experience with art collections

• Skill in problem solving and communicating resolutions.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• Ability to draft grammatically correct correspondence.
• Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to improve operations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse campus community.

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and to see the normal range of colors in art pieces.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, prolonged sitting, and step ladder climbing.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Work is both indoors and outdoors, and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role may at times require standing and/or walking an average of four (4) hours per day.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• Allows for variable work hours and hybrid working (in-person and remote) based on tasks.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
