This Assistant Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership for enrollment planning, recruitment, admissions, CRM management, enrollment analytics, and market intelligence. The Assistant Dean oversees the systems, processes, and personnel that support enrollment success and serves as the institution's primary strategist for understanding, forecasting, and influencing enrollment outcomes.
The Assistant Dean serves as Brite's primary strategist for enrollment planning, analytics, and enrollment operations, advancing the institution's ability to understand, forecast, and influence enrollment outcomes through data-informed decision making, market intelligence, and strategic enrollment planning.
As a member of the Dean's leadership team, the Assistant Dean partners closely with faculty and administrative leaders to develop an integrated approach to recruitment, enrollment, student persistence, and degree completion. The position serves as Brite's primary strategist for enrollment planning and analytics while overseeing operational systems and personnel that support those goals.
1. Enrollment Strategy and Intelligence
• Develops and implements a comprehensive enrollment strategy aligned with institutional mission, academic priorities, and long-term sustainability goals.
• Accountable for achieving institutional enrollment goals and contributing to retention and student success outcomes through strategic planning, analytics, assessment, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Builds and maintains predictive enrollment models and forecasts at institutional, programmatic, and cohort levels, incorporating scenario planning to inform budgeting, staffing, curriculum planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Establishes and oversee an institutional enrollment intelligence framework that identifies leading indicators, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities across the enrollment pipeline.
• Monitors emerging demographic, technological, ecclesial, and higher education trends to identify opportunities for new programs, markets, modalities, and recruitment strategies.
• Assesses enrollment opportunities across residential, hybrid, and online educational modalities and develop strategies responsive to changing learner preferences.
• Defines, monitors, and communicates key performance indicators related to recruitment, admissions, yield, persistence, discount rate, and student success.
• Designs and maintains dashboards and reporting systems that translate complex data into actionable insights for faculty, senior leadership, and governing bodies.
• Conducts market research, demographic analysis, and peer benchmarking to identify emerging opportunities, program viability considerations, modality preferences, and new student constituencies.
• Recommends enrollment-related resource allocation, staffing models, technology investments, and strategic initiatives based on enrollment forecasts and institutional priorities.
• Prepares enrollment data and narrative for accreditation reporting, institutional self-study, and for grant proposals and reports as requested.
2. Admissions and Enrollment Operations
• Provides strategic oversight of admissions and recruitment operations through the supervision of admissions staff, ensuring that operational practices, recruitment activities, and enrollment outcomes align with institutional goals.
• Leads the application review processes, faculty admissions committee procedures, decision protocols, and communication strategies.
• Ensures a consistent, mission-aligned, and student-centered admissions experience throughout the recruitment and enrollment cycle.
• Serves as functional owner and strategic administrator of the CRM (currently Slate), including architecture, workflow design, communication series automation, data integrity, reporting, and integration with the student information system.
• Develops, documents, and continuously improve admissions policies, procedures, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency, accountability, and continuity.
• Ensures compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, federal regulations, and best practices governing admissions and enrollment management.
3. Scholarship Strategy and Enrollment Yield
• Collaborates with institutional leadership to develop strategic scholarship and financial aid models that advance enrollment goals while supporting institutional sustainability.
• Conducts scholarship leveraging and discount-rate analyses, evaluating the impact of award structures on recruitment, yield, student access, and net tuition revenue.
• Recommends data-informed scholarship allocation strategies that balance affordability, access, vocation-centered formation, and fiscal stewardship.
• Designs, implements, and assesses yield strategies from admission through matriculation, including melt analysis, communication plans, and intervention strategies.
4. Student Persistence Planning and Analytics
• Monitors and analyzes student persistence, retention, stop-out, re-enrollment, and degree completion trends across programs and student populations.
• Develops and maintain dashboards, reports, and predictive indicators that support institutional understanding of factors affecting student success and persistence.
• Partners with the Assistant Dean of Students, faculty, and other campus leaders to identify barriers to persistence and recommend data-informed interventions.
• Conducts stay studies, withdrawal analyses, exit assessments, and re-enrollment reviews to identify opportunities for improving student outcomes.
• Leads the collection, analysis, and communication of persistence and completion data to inform institutional planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
• Convenes cross-functional partners to review persistence data, assess institutional progress, and support coordinated action across academic and student support functions.
• Prepares reports and recommendations related to student persistence and completion for executive leadership, faculty committees, accrediting bodies, and governing boards.
5. Leadership and Collaboration
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates the admissions staff, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and collaborative learning.
• Manages the enrollment operating budget and recommend investment priorities.
• Serves as the institution's chief enrollment strategist and primary advisor to senior leadership on enrollment performance, market positioning, student persistence, and enrollment-related resource allocation.
• Presents enrollment intelligence and strategic recommendations to faculty, executive leadership, board committees, denomination partners, donors, and external stakeholders.
• Collaborates closely with the Assistant Dean of Students to align enrollment planning, retention objectives, and student success initiatives across the student lifecycle.
• Cultivates collaborative relationships across student services, academic affairs, vocational discernment and ministerial readiness, institutional advancement, financial aid, and faculty governance to support holistic enrollment and student success strategies.
• Provides leadership, supervision, mentorship, and performance management for the admissions team.
6. Other related duties as assigned
• Master's degree.
• 6 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, admissions, institutional research, student success, higher education administration, or a closely related field.
• Experience in enrollment analytics, predictive modeling, forecasting, funnel analysis, and strategic planning.
• Experience managing enrollment technology systems, including customer relationship management platforms; Slate experience strongly preferred.
• Experience utilizing successful strategic leadership, including development and implementation of initiatives that produced measurable organizational outcomes.
• Experience supervising staff and managing complex projects across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in theological education, graduate professional education, seminary administration, or faith-based higher education.
• Experience recruiting adult learners, second-career professionals, and geographically distributed students.
• Experience supporting online, hybrid, and competency-based learning environments.
• Familiarity with theological, ministerial, nonprofit, or values-based educational contexts.
• Understanding of vocational discernment, denominational ecosystems, adult learners, second-career students, and the distinct enrollment dynamics of theological education.
• Experience designing retention strategies, student persistence initiatives, and early-alert systems.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards, assessment processes, and institutional effectiveness reporting.
• Experience with financial aid leveraging, scholarship modeling, and tuition revenue analysis.
