Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Athletics Equipment is responsible for developing, planning and organizing program directly related to the maintenance and purchase of athletic equipment for TCU sports; Prepares and monitors athletic equipment budgets for these assigned sports.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Coordinates the purchase of athletic apparel and protective equipment in collaboration with coaching staff to support sport-specific needs. Cultivates productive vendor partnerships, obtains competitive pricing in accordance with university procurement policies, and monitors expenditures within allocated budgets. Assists with forecasting and equipment replacement planning.
2. Manages sport-specific equipment inventory utilizing the Teamworks Inventory Management system to maintain accurate digital records, conduct reconciliation and support annual audits. Implements inventory control procedures to ensure accountability, operational efficiency, and loss prevention. Maintains secure equipment storage areas and communicates regularly with sport programs regarding equipment needs and safety standards.
3. Oversees issuance, collection, and tracking of uniforms and equipment for student-athlete and staff. Maintains accurate checkout records and ensures timely distribution and retrieval for practices, competitions, and travel while delivering a high level of services to assigned sports programs.
4. Supervises laundering, repair, and reconditioning of athletic equipment and apparel. Evaluates equipment condition and determines replacement needs. Ensures protective equipment meets manufacturer and applicable safety standards and collaborates with sport staff to address operation concerns.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 1 years’ experience in equipment position, including experience in purchasing and inventory of athletics equipment

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.
• Certified or Certifiable by Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA)

• None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of appropriate computer software packages
• Skill in both spoken and written communication.
• Skill in making updates to digital and social media channels daily.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• Requires attendance at home and some away games, events, and contests.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to extreme.
