Position Details:

This full-time faculty position is on campus and in person.

The Department of Economics at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level as part of a cluster hire beginning August 2027.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in the area of quantitative economics, with demonstrated research expertise in machine learning and/or artificial intelligence methods, and to teach at the undergraduate and Master’s levels.
All Ph.D. requirements should be complete by August 2027. Departmental representatives will conduct virtual interviews. Finalists will be invited to campus for in-person visits.

TCU is a private research university, and the Department of Economics is part of the AddRan College of Liberal Arts that emphasizes the ideals of a liberal arts education and a teacher-scholar model with a 3/2 course load. Students are encouraged to explore alternative points of view and to develop the tools necessary for independent analysis. We place a strong value on excellence in teaching, research and mentoring. The department serves approximately 350 majors across four undergraduate degrees (BA, BS, BS in International Economics, and BS in Economics & Mathematics) and will offer a Master of Science in Economics with Quantitative and AI Methods (MSEQAI) starting summer 2027.

Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
