The Communications Assistant supports the communications department by writing press releases, maintaining statistical data and running social media accounts to promote TCU Athletics, its coaches and student-athletes. This is a one-year internship with a start and end date.
1. Serves as primary media contact for assigned sports.
2. Maintains statistical information for assigned sports.
3. Provides responsibility for content on social accounts for assigned sports.
4. Writes updated content for fact books, game programs and game notes.
5. Monitors and updates website content.
6. Works closely with marketing and video staffs.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• One year in communications and public relations setting
• One year in communications in a collegiate environment
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle Requirements
• None
• Knowledge of working with a website provider, preferably SIDEARM.
• Skill in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Stat Crew/Genius.
• Skill in running a team or organization’s social media account.
• Skill with a camera and editing photos.
• Ability to write with knowledge of AP style.
• Ability to research and analyze statistical data.

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Work is indoors/outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position but some travel will be required.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
