The Events Manager is responsible for researching, creating, coordinating, and implementing select stakeholder events for the Neeley School of Business and oversees event-specific SOPs, modern event software implementation, and event resources for the Neeley School.
1. Conducts comprehensive event planning for Dean’s Office and Neeley-wide events including budgeting, registration, vendor management, contracting and negotiations, coordination, implementation, and post-event evaluation, as well as post- event budget reconciliation and year-over-year records. Events may include, but not be limited to, gatherings (on/off campus), conferences, advisory board meetings, and speaker series.
2. Develops, oversees and communicates with External Relations colleagues about comprehensive plans in order to coordinate timelines for all major events across the Neeley School, requiring complex calendar management and ensuring alignment across units.
3. Works with the Executive Director, External Relations, and team to broaden and enhance Neeley School relationships with prospective and current students/parent, faculty/staff, alumni, and corporate partners.
4. Collaborates with Neeley External Relations team to design and implement communication and publicity for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with event goals, success metrics and outcomes.
5. Oversees the production of events for Dean’s Office and Neeley-wide events, including venue selection and site visits, production of collateral materials, RSVP management, catering, volunteer coordination, and event-day logistics.
6. Serves as strategic advisor to Neeley units, offering guidance and expertise to support their event planning efforts.
7. Supports Neeley Alumni and Constituent Relations programming by providing strategic event guidance and coordination.
8. Fosters and maintains event-related relationships within Neeley and across the TCU campus to ensure strategic coordination and best practices as it relates to University-wide events.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelors’ degree.
• 3 plus years’ experience in event planning or related experience.
• Degree in marketing, strategic communications, hospitality or similar field
• 5 plus years’ experience in event planning or related experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using project management software such as Workamajig or Monday.com
• Experience using event software such as Cvent or Salesforce
• Experience with Canva.com
• Knowledge of concepts of marketing special events.
• Knowledge of organizational techniques.
