The John V. Roach Honors College at Texas Christian University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure track) to begin in August 2025 with specialization in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). Specific areas of interest include applied ethics, business history and ethics, AI ethics, philosophy of law, philosophy of public policy, and corporate sustainability.
The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching honors students and contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary undergraduate curriculum, aligning with the Honors College mission of empowering, inspiring, and motivating students to become global leaders. The successful candidate will be a first-rate teacher: a creative educator dedicated to facilitating high-impact practices, engaged student mentoring, and innovative and inclusive practices. The successful candidate will also be able to develop an interdisciplinary research stream in relevant fields, working with collaborators at TCU and other universities and organizations. In addition to other courses, the successful candidate will also design and teach an annual colloquium for upper-level honors students on capitalism and socialism; the course is supported by a sizable endowment and provides substantial funding for creative approaches to learning and engagement with ideas.
Tenure-line faculty have an annual 3/2 course load. Newly hired pre-tenure faculty have course release support. The position carries a competitive salary and internal research support.

Required qualifications:
• Doctoral degree (awarded no later than August 2025)
• Active research agenda
• Demonstrated potential to serve as a creative, reflective, and engaging educator capable of effectively teaching undergraduate honors courses
• Demonstrated success in supporting an atmosphere of collegiality
Preferred qualifications:
• Either Honors or interdisciplinary teaching experience (or equivalent)
• Interest or experience in securing external research funding

The John V. Roach Honors College is a community of ambitious, intellectually curious students from every major on campus (over 1,200 in total, approximately 10 percent of the TCU undergraduate population). Honors College faculty craft unique learning experiences through which students encounter ideas and perspectives beyond their majors, adding depth and context to students’ undergraduate studies and accelerating their personal growth.
