This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.
The Texas Christian University (TCU) Department of Social Work seeks a Chair who can expand and promote innovative undergraduate and graduate programs. This is a full-time, tenure-stream appointment at Associate or Full Professor rank. The Chair is the senior administrator of the academic unit and serves as the liaison between the Department and the Dean of the college. The Chair is responsible for leading strategic planning, program development (including marketing and recruitment), budget allocations and management of resources, student services, curricula, oversight of accreditation, and recommendation for faculty/staff appointments as well as promotion and tenure. Additionally, the Chair will have an independent program of research and teach across programs in their area of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications:
● A MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
● A PhD in social work or closely related field
● Minimum of 2 years of post-MSW social work practice experience
● A Texas LMSW/LCSW, or willingness to obtain licensure within one year of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Record of mentoring and developing faculty and staff
● Experience with community-engaged and student-centered scholarship, teaching and service
● Administrative experience, including budget preparation, personnel management and program advocacy
The TCU Department of Social Work houses BSW and MSW programs, and serves approximately 100 students annually through the two programs. The Department offers potential internal collaboration opportunities with Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences faculty and the Burnett School of Medicine. There are additional collaboration opportunities outside of the Harris College with faculty from units such as Women and Gender Studies, Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies, and the College of Education. The Department of Social Work further partners with several community-based agencies through research, teaching, and its robust field program.

The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences consists of programs that prepare future health care and human services professionals.
