Job Summary:

The Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics by managing student service-related programs; planning and implementing the University’s long-term gender equity plan. The Deputy will serve as the Senior Woman Administrator for Conference and NCAA Governance.

 

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Recommends improvements in programs by serving on Senior Management team; Acting as Liaison with Faculty Intercollegiate Athletics Committee; disseminating information, initiating and preparing topics for meetings; and speaking to relative constituencies.
2. Coordinate with the Big 12 Conference by serving as liaison for non-revenue sports governance and conference representation on national committees.
3. Manages daily operations by providing academic and personnel management of assigned teams and sports;
4. Maintains implementation of compliance related matters by coordinating and completing conference. NCAA and federal reports; developing and updating departmental and student-athlete policy and procedures handbook; serving as liaison on affirmative action issues.
5. Implements and monitors the University’s scholarship programs by serving as liaison between students, faculty and academic departments and other campus services; interpreting academic policies and procedure and curriculum issues.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7 years’ in a senior-level collegiate athletic administrator positions at NCAA institution.

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

• None

 

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

 

Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

• None

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of the navigation of Microsoft Windows.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques.
• Knowledge of NCAA regulations.
• Skill in some or all components of Microsoft office.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
