The Director of Graduate Experiential Learning & Professional Development manages experiential learning and professional development initiatives for Neeley graduate students across a portfolio of MBA and MS programs. The person in this role recruits people and companies, works in close partnership with faculty, and manages processes and events supporting meaningful development opportunities for graduate students.
1. Manages and grows professional development opportunities for MBA/MS students by recruiting meaningful company sponsored projects for Neeley and Associates, managing the processes by which projects and students are selected. Manage and coach student teams as they execute projects present recommendations; supervise and train student team leaders and coaches (i.e., Neeley and Associates Principals); manage client relationships before, during, and after consulting engagements; identify and manage ad hoc consulting opportunities.
2. Teaches MANA 70773, Consulting Applications – Neeley and Associates, adhering to all university policies and guidelines, in partnership with a faculty member.
3. Oversees the MBA Association and graduate student organizations, providing leadership support and oversight for professional development and programming including workshops and corporate visits.
4. Coordinates, supports and expands Neeley graduate student participation in case competitions within and outside of TCU. Host world-class student competitions including, on a rotational schedule, the Big XII MBA Case Competition. Secure corporate sponsorship(s) of Neeley competitions; supervise events associated with select Neeley competitions; prepare and monitor budgets for Neeley events; create opportunities for increased status/awareness of Neeley participation with the general public and with top quality MBA programs; identify appropriate external competitions held at other universities or businesses; and work with student organizations to expand participation in external competitions.
5. Facilitates graduate programs speaker events including C-Level Confidentials and others to be developed by identifying outstanding speakers; ensure student participation; supervise speaker preparation and experience; work with other areas of Neeley to ensure a high-quality experience; secure outside sponsorship of speaker events; and when appropriate promote external awareness of speaker events.
6. Coordinates with Neeley faculty and other Graduate Programs staff to develop and implement program enhancements and establish and maintain relationships with employer partners, prospective donors, and other external stakeholders.
7. Develops, leads, and manages Neeley Experiential Learning Advisory Board engagement efforts.
8. Manages program budget to align with departmental profit objectives each fiscal year.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
• 4 plus years of experience in consulting or a related field in which there has been significant interaction with C-Level corporate executives.
• 10 plus years’ experience in consulting or a related field in which there has been significant interaction with the C-level corporate executives.
