This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.

The English Department of Texas Christian University invites applications for three Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellows. These full-time, on-campus positions begin August 1, 2025 and are renewable for up to three years. Responsibilities will include teaching 3 courses per semester, primarily in first- and second-year composition, with the possibility of some teaching in other areas (such as literature, creative writing, writing and rhetoric), depending on departmental need and instructor expertise. We invite applicants to demonstrate in their application materials how they might contribute to the department's core mission of providing a socially just literacy education.

Successful applicants will have completed a PhD within the last five years in Composition and Rhetoric, English, or related field or an MFA in Creative Writing. Teaching experience in one or more of the indicated fields is required; applicants are also expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate instruction. In addition to opportunities for course development, Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellows will receive mentoring in pedagogy, research, scholarly or creative writing, and publishing. Work on a scholarly or creative project during the Fellowship is expected.

Students and faculty in the Department of English at TCU are committed to a variety of intellectual and creative pursuits fostered by the exploration of literature, cultural studies, rhetoric and composition, and creative writing. We offer PhDs in both English and Rhetoric and Composition, an MA in English, and undergraduate majors in English, Creative Writing, and Writing and Rhetoric.

Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
