Job Summary:

The Resource Development Specialist will contribute to the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development’s (KPICD’s) efforts to develop new and revise existing resources needed to ensure fidelity to Trust-based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) and meet needs of TBRI trainees and practitioners. This position will office on campus.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Contributes to KPICD efforts to develop new, and revise existing, resources for TBRI trainees and practitioners (e.g., revising curricula, updating videos to reflect diverse populations, developing supplementary resources, producing content for asynchronous virtual trainings).
2. Assists with the development and execution of resource-related guidelines and processes (e.g., KPICD/TBRI guide to formatting, funneling requests for new resources, ensuring fidelity to TBRI, translation).
3. Collaborates with the Resource Development Coordinator to maintain a catalog of KPICD/TBRI resources.
4. Works collaboratively with the KPICD education, research, training/consultation, and administrative teams to identify existing resources that need revision and create new resources to meet needs of specific populations, contexts, and cultures.
5. Works collaboratively with KPICD’s external partners on reviewing, updating, and adapting existing resources and/or developing new resources (e.g., facilitating workgroups, communicating with external partners about their needs and experiences, participating in off-campus site visits when necessary).
6. Contributes to writing and formatting of materials for a variety of purposes and audiences (e.g., developing training activities or worksheets, contributing to curriculum development, technical writing, infographics).
7. Contributes to the editing, production, and dissemination of resources of in a variety of formats (e.g., print, video, multi-media) utilizing tools such as Canva, InDesign, video editing tools, podcast editing tools, etc.
8. Applies knowledge of trauma-informed care and TBRI when reviewing internally- and externally-developed resources for adherence to brand standards and fidelity to the model of TBRI.
9. Collects and applies feedback that ensures resources are accurate and relevant for the intended audience.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, child development, social work, education, communication, or related field.
• 1 year experience implementing TBRI in practice, researching TBRI effectiveness/training/implementation, and/or developing TBRI resources for special contexts or cultures.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• 2+ years experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or print/media production.
• Experience with editing multi-media resources (e.g., videos, podcasts).
• Experience with technology tools related to production of resource deliverables (e.g., Canva, InDesign, video editing).
• Experience with resource localization, or adapting resources to be applicable and appropriate for different cultures and populations (e.g., understanding of inclusive language and best practices for developing inclusive resources).

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Fingerprint and background check clearance required upon hire.

Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

• TBRI Practitioner.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Skill in professional writing: ability to adjust writing style, tone, and reading level for different audiences (e.g., practitioner, academic, policy).
• Proficiency in editing of written materials (e.g., spelling and grammar, consistent language, formatting).
• Skill in instructional design (e.g., developing online courses/trainings, developing facilitator guides for trainings)
• Critical and flexible thinking skills (e.g., thinking outside of the box, curious, questioning)
• Ability to relate to and adapt to audiences with different reading levels, life experiences, etc. Cultural humility and awareness of cultural biases.
• Skill in communicating with other professionals in individual and group settings.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a digital work environment (e.g., MS Office, Zoom, web applications).
• Ability to travel.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
