The Service Assistant is responsible for maintaining campus buildings by providing cleaning services.
1. Facility Maintenance: Maintains buildings by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; cleaning windows, counters, walls and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing and finishing floors; cleaning blinds, furniture and carpeting; supplying and cleaning rest rooms, showers, and kitchens; setting up and arranging furniture and cleaning leaks.
2. Trash Removal: Removes trash by emptying and maintaining trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials.
3. Safety Compliance: Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to procedures, rules and regulations.
4. Asset Monitoring: Monitors assets by inventorying supplies and equipment; following manufacturer’s recommendation for equipment maintenance; identifying and reporting issues with buildings, equipment, or supplies to the supervisor; and securing keys and property.
5. Operational Support: Supports operations by training new employees as needed; transporting staff to work sites using organizational vehicles; and ensuring adequate coverage.
6. On-Call Responsibilities: Participates in an on-call rotation and is responsible for responding to all phone calls during the assigned on-call after hours call. While on-call, required to return to campus to address emergencies such as leaks, spills, vomit, or other critical needs.
