Job Summary:

The Assistant Director, Graduate Student Engagement will be an integral part of multiple teams focused on delivering high-quality co-and extra-curricular experiences for incoming and current students within an assigned set of MBA and MS Graduate Programs. This position builds and enhances relationships with prospective and current students, and collaborates with admissions and recruitment, academic services, career services and alumni relations in support of a seamless onboarding experience and high student satisfaction.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1) Supports an exceptional student experience for students across a portfolio of programs.
2) Serves as primary point of contact for students in an assigned subset of Neeley’s graduate programs. Implements mechanisms by which to easily communicate with students across these programs.
3) Plans and leads high-value onboarding experiences for new students.
4) Shapes development initiatives and an overall student experience that aligns with the Neeley brand and helps to differentiate the Neeley graduate experience for graduate students across multiple programs.
5) Identifies Class Reps, solicit and respond to student feedback, and partners with colleagues to ensure that students receive the information, guidance, support and development they need.
6) Develops learning team assignments and incorporates training and other developmental experiences to help students become strong team members and resolve issues related to team dynamics.
7) Coordinates with related career center teams to ensure that students are knowledgeable about how to leverage available career support resources.
8) Recruits and manages graduate student leaders to help support and lead initiatives.
9) Assists with the planning and execution of biannual Graduate Hooding Ceremonies and related events for graduating students.
10) Works in partnership with the Director of Graduate Student Engagement and Neeley’s director of Alumni Engagement and others to integrate opportunities for meaningful student/alumni engagement.
11) Supports Enrollment Management efforts by supporting the Graduate Recruiting and Admissions team in the implementation of processes, events and related experiences that align with the School’s strategic vision to maximize enrollment management for all Neeley Graduate Programs.
12) Serves as the primary point of contact for deposited incoming students in assigned programs, providing clear communications regarding key dates and expectations.
13) Exercises strong financial management and assists in preparing budget proposals and work within assigned budgets.
14) Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 years’ in business and/or university education administration.
• 2 plus years’ of recruiting and/or business development. (Can be concurrent).
• Experience making presentations to groups.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree in business or related field.
• Experience working with graduate business students.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of leadership techniques.
• Skill in oral and written communications.
• Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to relate to and effectively counsel graduate business students
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to develop and execute program strategies (design and modify internal processes to continuously improve, plan and manage multiple events).
• Ability to evaluate educational and leadership development programs and design and implement improvements.
• Ability to effectively manage supplier relationships.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.

• This role is an on-campus, in-person position. 
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
