Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Athletics Wellness Center assists the Director of the Wellness Center in the daily operation of multiple facilities and spaces and special event coordination. Additionally, this position serves as administrative support for Sports Medicine and Human Performance.

 

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Manages general operations for wellness center and human performance multi-use spaces.
2. Serves as administrative support for over 20 full-time staff in both sports medicine and human performance.
3. Assists in coordination of special events in human performance related spaces.
4. Coordinates, in conjunction with Athletics Facility Department, necessary repairs and maintenance of all sports medicine related equipment in human performance spaces.
5. Manages customer service focused environment by greeting and working with student-athletes, coaches, staff, recruits/family, donors and other visitors in all human performance related spaces.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience.
• 2 years of experience in event or office management.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge to troubleshoot, problem solve, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of budget process and software, including contract software.
• Knowledge of community related to intercollegiate athletics.
• Ability to evaluate and take independent action to improve operations.
• Ability to navigate scheduling for 22 intercollegiate teams, individual student-athletes, and special events in multiple human performance spaces.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours as necessary.
• Ability to maintain staff confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Ability to promote the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.
• Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
• Ability to contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment.

 

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
• This position is in person and on campus.
