The Talent Manager is a strategic business partner responsible for managing full lifecycle recruiting and talent management. The Talent Manager provides guidance and resources for sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding talent. This position leads talent advising, recruiting and internal mobility initiatives for employees at all levels including Executive leaders, and attends to hire speed, quality of candidates, fairness, candidate experience, and retention.
1. Serves as a strategic talent advisor to university leaders and hiring managers, aligning talent acquisition strategies with organizational and workforce needs.
2. Designs and executes comprehensive talent attraction and recruiting strategies for all roles inclusive of critical, specialized, executive-level, and/or hard-to-fill positions.
3. Analyzes labor market trends, talent availability, hiring data, and workforce insights to inform university hiring strategies and workforce planning recommendations.
4. Advises hiring managers on candidate assessment, selection methodologies, interviewing best practices, and equitable hiring processes that prioritize TCU Values-centered, inclusive workplace principles throughout talent attraction, selection, and hiring activities.
5. Develops and maintains proactive internal and external talent pipelines and varied candidate networks through strategic sourcing, relationship building, and community/market engagement.
6. Cultivates partnerships and attends events with professional associations, industry organizations, search firms, educational institutions, and community groups to strengthen talent attraction efforts.
7. Collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance employment branding, recruitment marketing, and candidate outreach initiatives.
8. Evaluates and continuously improves talent acquisition processes, practices, systems, and metrics to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and an exceptional candidate experience.
9. Leads the collection, analysis, and presentation of talent acquisition metrics, providing data-driven recommendations to support hiring decisions and organizational goals.
10. Designs and delivers training, resources, and consultation to support effective hiring and talent management practices across the university.
11. Manages, develops, and coaches talent advisory staff to achieve and display high performance, professional growth, and service excellence internal and external to TCU.
12. Provides strategic oversight of talent acquisition technologies and vendor relationships, serving as liaison for recruitment systems and related platforms.
13. Leads and coordinates talent projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years’ experience working in Talent Advisory, HR Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, or related field.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree.
• Executive and higher education talent management and recruiting.
